About us
It started with a printer in a closet.
I'm Calvin Mark, a middle school science teacher in Houston, TX. I've taught science for a decade, and right now I teach 8th grade.
How it got started
I found a 3D printer collecting dust in a closet on my campus. I started tinkering with it, fell in love with it, and now 3D printing and design run through my whole curriculum for every one of my students.
Some of my favorite projects: students printing their own atomic models, and designing fins and nose cones to launch 2-liter bottle rockets.
I got tired of paying marked-up prices from the big science suppliers. So I combined my hobby—3D design and printing—with my job, and started making science tools for my own classroom and for other teachers. I hope you find them as useful as I have.
The classroom, the shop, the crew
Outside the classroom
Being a dad comes first. After that: smoking Texas BBQ, welding, 3D printing, playing and coaching baseball, and reading fantasy fiction and historical biographies.
